Competent on corporate matters, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Alastair Papofforth at Goodwin to assist with drafting and negotiating a shareholder agreement for my small business. His background from the University of Chicago and his recognition in Corporate Law were evident in the quality of the legal documents produced; the contract was thorough and anticipated several potential issues. However, my experience was mixed. While Alastair demonstrated clear expertise when we were in meetings, the responsiveness between those meetings was lacking. There were several instances where I had to follow up multiple times on time-sensitive questions, which created some unnecessary stress during our negotiation window. For a straightforward corporate matter, he delivered a solid legal product, but the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. He is clearly knowledgeable, especially for an attorney with his level of experience, but the client service aspect could be more consistent to match the quality of the legal work itself.
