Competent tax advice, but communication could improve

I hired Mr. Heiden from Fisher, Tousey, Leas & Ball to assist with a complex IRS audit stemming from a small business investment. His recognition in Tax Law by Best Lawyers was a primary factor in my selection, and his foundational knowledge in this area was evident. He correctly identified key issues with my filings and provided a solid strategy for our response. However, the experience felt somewhat disjointed. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, and I often had to follow up for basic status reports. While the legal outcome was satisfactory, the process lacked the proactive communication I expected. For straightforward tax matters, his expertise is clearly present, but be prepared to manage the client-attorney communication flow yourself.
