Competent representation with some communication delays

I hired Adam Deutsch to handle a complex medical malpractice case involving a surgical error at a Manhattan hospital. His recognized expertise in this area, including his Best Lawyers recognition, was a primary reason for my choice. He demonstrated a solid understanding of the medical nuances and the legal standards required for such a claim. The initial strategy he laid out was sound, and he was clearly knowledgeable. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. There were often significant delays in receiving responses to emails or calls, sometimes stretching over a week, which added to my stress during an already difficult time. While he ultimately negotiated a reasonable settlement, the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. I was kept informed of major developments, but the day-to-day updates were sparse. For someone with his accolades, including the Lawyer of the Year recognition, I expected a slightly higher level of client service and proactive communication. He is undoubtedly a capable attorney who knows personal injury and malpractice law, but the administrative and client-relation aspects of his practice could be more consistent.
