Competent for estate planning, but communication could improve

I hired Aaron Burton to help restructure my family's estate plan following a significant inheritance. His knowledge in trusts and estates is evident, and his recognition in that field was a primary reason for my selection. He was thorough in explaining the tax implications, which was crucial given the complex nature of the assets involved. The final documents were comprehensive and professionally prepared. However, my experience was mixed. While Aaron is clearly competent, there were noticeable delays in returning phone calls and emails, sometimes stretching to several business days. This created some anxiety during the process, as I had timely questions about beneficiary designations. Furthermore, the billing structure wasn't as clearly outlined upfront as I would have liked, leading to a minor surprise at the final invoice. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise from the University of Denver and his recognized standing are solid. Yet, for clients who prioritize highly responsive communication and crystal-clear upfront cost estimates, there is room for improvement. He completed the job adequately, but the client service aspect felt just satisfactory.
