Competent on French employment law, but communication could improve

I engaged Caroline André-Hesse at Jeantet to assist with a complex, cross-border employment matter involving the termination of a senior executive in our French subsidiary. Her technical knowledge was evident. She provided a thorough analysis of the French social security implications and the litigation risks under local labor law, which aligned with her recognized focus in employment law. The strategy she outlined was sound and ultimately helped us reach a settlement. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While she is undoubtedly a knowledgeable advisor, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, leaving our internal team in a holding pattern. At times, the guidance felt more reactive than proactive, and I didn't quite get the sense of a "true partner" as described in her profile. For straightforward French employment advice, she is certainly capable, but for matters requiring more frequent touchpoints and strategic partnership, the execution didn't fully meet our expectations. She is competent, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
